The Rat Pack

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ABOUT THE RAT PACK

“David Alacey not only looked like Frank but he had the drawl, the wit and boy could he nail a tune. Des Colman made sure he owned every song. The audience got right behind him on hits such as Mr Bojangles and The Rhythm of Life. From looks to voice, Paul Drakeley was every inch the real deal as Dean Martin. The whole thing was a triumph and while we may never see such greats as Frank, Dean and Sammy again in our lifetime but the good news is that as long as such talented impersonators as these continue to exist, we may not need to”.

“These guys are fantastic”
Dannii Minogue

“I can honestly say that having toured with these guys, they are as close as anyone will ever get to my dear friends – Frank, Dean and Sammy. At times it was just like being back with my pals at The Sands in the sixties – so much fun and it really doesn’t get any better than that. As for David Alacey – well this guy really is Sinatra – it’s frightening”.
Vegas Legend – Buddy Greco

“Three Dead Ringers for Frank, Dean & Sammy”
Mark Ritchie – The Stage

Each actor was perfectly cast in their individual roles and Alacey in particular seemed to have somehow imbibed the very essence of ‘ole blue eyes’ before coming on stage. His performance was breathtaking – seriously! The tone, the modulation and the rhythm in his voice throughout the evening was genuine Sinatra. His masculine charm was also apparent in his pristine characterisation and it was with effortless charisma he strolled into the audience and sang I’ve Got You Under My Skin while chatting and engaging with the ladies – just like the icon. Drakeley, an endearing Dino, also hit the mark giving an authentic Italian- American edge to his accent and a firm nod to his fondness for the liquor. His vocal was smooth and enticing and when he sang Ain’t That A Kick In The Head, he enchanted the audience with his easy chit-chat and laid-back vocal style. Coleman, a former Eastenders star and an awe-inspiring Sammy Davis Jr, treated us all to a wonderfully dynamic version of The Candy Man and when he sang his voice was so smooth and velvety it made you feel as though you could happily bathe in it for hours. Sinatra and Davis together singing Me and My Shadow, complete with snazzy dance routine, just about blew the roof off. Pure class. The evening as a whole was a well choreographed mixture of chat between boys, a bit of working the audience, some dance routines and a lot of humour.”

“Just wanted to drop you a line to say how extremely impressed we have been with not only the FANTASTIC entertainment provided by ‘The Rat Pack’ who created a fantastic atmosphere to our Christmas Party and what a great bunch of guys they were, but also to you personally. I often think that many companies underestimate how important the first impression of their organisation is based purely on the person on the end of the phone who actually does the organising. You presented yourself and The Rat Pack as a highly organised and professional organisation who make the customer/client feel as though you genuinely care about what is right for them and that you really want to make sure that the event runs smoothly. I have absolutely no hesitation to not just recommend The Rat Pack but to use them time and time again. Thank you once again.”

“Boy have these guys nailed it”, said a male member of the audience when this tribute Rat Pack first appeared on stage in Potters Bar. And how right he was. David Alacey (as Frank Sinatra), Paul Drakeley ( Dean Martin) and Des Coleman ( Sammy Davis Jnr) have all the swagger, the banter, the style and, most importantly, the voices of the famous threesome. It was easy to believe you had been transported back a few decades to the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas and were watching an original Christmas special from these three giant talents. The lovely seasonal set at the Wyllyotts Theatre added to the magical atmosphere and the four-piece band were outstanding musicians. Mr Alacey performs My Way with great panache and he has the Hoboken accent down to a fine art as he introduces his buddy Dean who comes up with terrific lines like: “My mother-in-law’s 86 years old. She doesn’t need glasses – she drinks straight out of the bottle” as he performs hits like Little ‘Ol Wine Drinker and Everybody Loves Somebody. It comes as little surprise to find out that Des, known for his many T.V appearances including the role of Lenny in Eastenders, has performed in the show as Sammy Davis Jnr for over ten years. He has the mannerisms, dance moves and powerhouse jazzy vocals of the great entertainer; and his performances of What Kind Of Fool Am I and Candy Man were a joy to hear. David makes being Sinatra look easy as he glides through classics including You Make Me Feel So Young, Fly Me To The Moon, I’ve Got You Under My Skin and New York New York. This was a Yuletide show full of surprises and delights with no fewer than two special guests – singer, actor, composer and all-round family entertainer Kenny Lynch; and Charley Toulan who transformed into a stunning Marilyn Monroe. If you get a chance to see this exemplary Rat Pack tribute show (at any time of the year) don’t miss it. David, Paul and Des will make you believe you’re back in 1963.
