A choirboy and flautist from an early age, he signed as a professional footballer for Manchester City at the age of eighteen and at international level, he achieved three caps for Northern Ireland. Upon retirement, he returned to music and acting, with many appearances around the world. He was recently seen in Coronation Street and touring with both The Christmas Crooners and as Sammy Davis Jnr in The Rat Pack Las Vegas Live.
In his spare time, Jim is also an accomplished artist, with many famous commissions for his amazingly lifelike portraits. He can currently be seen starring as Coach Byrne in The hit CBBC series Jamie Johnson FC and is heard regularly on BBC Manchester providing live football match commentary.
